Soulsong #478 – How Do I Rid Myself of Pain?

If I experience chronic pain, I can be thankful for the array of pain medications and treatments available today and for new ones being developed. Treatments, both conventional and alternative, offer hope for some relief.

And there’s more good news: physical pain can be eradicated by understanding how I got it in the first place and then by reversing that process.

All pain – indeed all illness or physical imbalance of any sort – is nothing more than unhappy thoughts that I’ve entertained long enough for them to “gel” in my body.

Those habits of thought have set off plenty of warning bells of bad-feeling emotion, but I didn’t make adjustments. I put up with the painful emotions – perhaps chronic envy, anger, self-pity, resentment, guilt, worry – rather than change the thoughts that caused them. And now I have physical pain – a system designed to even MORE emphatically encourage me to change my mental focus.

The perfect time to begin to reverse pain is now. It will be a gradual process, but with every negative thought I relinquish and every hopeful, appreciative, contented thought I think, I take ONE DISTINCT STEP towards becoming pain free. In due time, I’ll start to experience wondrous results spontaneously - or perhaps I’ll rendezvous with the ultimate healer or healing treatment.

However it unfolds, I will reach this feel-good state the only way that anyone can: one thought at a time. And I’ll rejoice.
